I purchased three Sensational wigs to test out for 2024, knowing the brand’s strong reputation in haircare. I opted for two ‘Butta Lace’ and one ‘What Lace,’ all in 1B. The quality of these wigs is outstanding; they are beautifully crafted, well-packaged, and show great attention to detail.
The ‘What Lace’ wig is absolutely stunning. It resembles the $600 Indian hair weaves I used to wear perfectly. For the price, itās an incredible deal. The lace front is nearly invisible and features a generous front section for versatile parting options. The length, thickness, and layering are ideal, feeling like a 16-18 inch with long layers that arenāt overly thin. The density appears to be around 150-180%. The hair is incredibly soft and bouncy without being overly shiny. The construction is excellent, featuring multiple combs, sturdy seams, a large front lace area, and an adjustable strap at the back.
There are plenty of baby hairs, which can be a bit annoying, but they help conceal my thick, uneven natural hairline. However, there are some drawbacks. While the lace is nearly invisible, it can be quite itchy. Iāve experienced the same issue with the other Sensational Butta lace wigs, so it may be my sensitive skin. The lace feels rough rather than soft and smooth. The back strap is a nice addition, but itās thin and may stretch out quickly; fortunately, I have replacement straps ready to go when needed.
The cap size is quite small, like the other Sensational wigs I have. Thankfully, I cut my thick hair to shoulder length, braided it flat, wore a wig cap, and then put the wig on. Without that prep, I wouldnāt have been able to wear it comfortably. I do have a larger head, but the thickness and construction of the wig mean it doesnāt have to cover everything perfectly. I could easily tuck a short braid behind it or transform it into a headband wig if necessary. Despite the snug fit, it stays in place, looks fantastic, and has quickly become my favorite daily wig. I haven’t tried it at work yet, so Iām curious about its durability. I got three in the same color for easy rotation during wash and maintenance cycles. Iāll keep you posted on how it holds up!
Also, I just unboxed it and threw it on without laying my edges, using glue, or stylingājust added a part!
This lace days 13Ć4 but fits like 4Ć4. It also sheds and I didn’t bleach the wig. I won’t buy because this is the first 13Ć4 I’ve brought online here and it didn’t fit. It’s a no for me Simon. –
I would have given this 5 stars, but one of the tracks was lifting. Now I have to pay to have it sewn down, which is unfortunate since it seems they didn’t notice this before shipping.
